Origin:
Bred by Jean Laffay (France, 1834).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1882 as 'Laure Davoust'.
Class:
Found Rose, Hybrid Multiflora, Noisette, Rambler.  
Bloom:
Light pink to blush, ages to white .  Mild, sweet fragrance.  Average diameter 1.5".  Small to medium, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters, cupped, old-fashioned, quartered, rosette bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing.  Matte, medium green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: 12' to 20' (365 to 610cm).  Width: 8' (245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  can be grown as a shrub.  suitable for a pillar.
