Lanvin AROlemo. Modern, large-flowered hybrid tea, light yellow, repeat flowering.
The flowers of 'Lanvin' are a pleasing shade of clear light yellow with noticable veining on the petals, which have a silky sheen. They are borne usually in sprays of 3 or 5 on long slim stems and are fairly large, with up to 30 petals, and neatly formed with high centres, becoming loosely cupped as they open but not yielding much fragrance. The length of stem and holding quality of the bloom make this a useful rose to grow for cutting as well as for general garden use, and flowering is well maintained through summer and autumn. The bush grows vigorously with an upright, bushy habit to average height and has semi-glossy, dark green foliage that is red tinted when young. The raiser introduced this as one of a trio of new roses named for Parisian courturiers. Zones 4-9. Christensen, USA 1986. Seedling x 'Katherine Loker'.

Lanvin Large-flowered. AROlemo. Raised by Jack Christensen in 1975 'Lanvin' is one of the series that Armstrong Nurseries named for Paris couturiers - their 'French' Collection'. It is a vigorous Bush Rose, bearing large, stylish blooms in a medium yellow which holds well in the sun. A pleasing rose for cutting, as the stems are long and slim, it has virtually no fragrance, but then the clear yellows, as a rule, are not noteworthy in this respect. Foliage is dark green, tinted red and semi-glossy. Introduced in 1985, exhibitors should find it worth adding to their collections. Unnamed seedling x 'Katherine Loker'. Repeat flowering.

Lanvin is a good yellow but, from my brief experience, seems inferior to 'Gold Medal'.

Dry Wrapping of Roses for a Show......At the last National show, a runner-up to the champion 'Admiral Rodney' and Jennifer Sheldon's Gold Medal Certificate with an arrangement of Lanvin all attest to the fact that dry wrap works. The Sheldon flowers were all cut 45 days before the Show!
