From 1913 series of Wills's cigarette cards (No 76)
Text on reverse of card:
HIS MAJESTY.
(Hybrid Tea.)
Quite one of the leading exhibition roses, a good grower, and very hardy. Being somewhat subject to mildew, care must be exercised during the early stages of its growth to prevent this troublesome pest from obtaining a firm hold. Prune hard when required for exhibition. Introduced in 1909 and awarded the Gold Medal of the National Rose Society.
