Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) in 1963 as 'Alamein'.
Introduced in France by NIRP International in 1964 as 'Alamein'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by John Mattock, The Rose Nurseries in 1977 as 'Captain Cook'.

Floribunda.  

Salmon-orange to vermilion, ages to lighter .  Scarlet-orange.  Mild fragrance.  10 to 15 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Small buds.  

Medium, bushy.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 39" to 47" (100 to 120cm).  

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
