Introduced in France by Meilland et Cie in 1942 as 'Madame A. Meilland'.
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1945 as 'Peace'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1947 as 'Peace'.

Hybrid Tea.  

Lemon-yellow, rose-pink edges.  Moderate, tea fragrance.  50 to 55 petals.  Average diameter 5.5".  Very large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, high-centered to cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, rounded buds.  

Bushy, upright, well-branched.  Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  5 leaflets.  

Height: 4' to 6½' (120 to 200cm).  Width: up to 3' (up to 90cm).

USDA zone 5b and warmer.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).  Prune dead wood.  Prune lightly or not at all.

The US plant patent 591 does not have parentage information.
