Book (1993) Page(s) 398. Includes photo(s). Today MACcompu. Large-flowered. 'Today' is still a very new rose - Sam McGredy introduced it only in 1990 - so perhaps it will improve with age. The flowers, perhaps, are a bit too small to be in proportion with the very strong, tall bush. People made this same complaint about 'Pascali', and it was a great hit. Everthing else is good news; the blooms are shapely and long lasting, they hold their bright orange and yellow until they drop, without going red or purple, and they harmonize perfectly with the bronze-green foliage. Scent is quite good. Unnamed seedling unnamed seedling. Repeat flowering. Fragrant.
Book (1992) Page(s) 31. Includes photo(s). Valerie Swane, Dural, NSW. Introductions for 1992. Today (Maccompu) - The colour is a vibrant orange ochre. In both colour and growth habit it is quite distinct from any other rose. The colour is very intense and the bush is tall without becoming too tall. The many petals are pointed and recurved. 'Today' thrives in the hotter climates of the world. It was raised by Sam McGredy from ('Typho Tea' x {'Yellow Pages' x 'Kabuki'} x {'Yellow Pages x 'Kabuki') x { 'Macjose' x 'Typhoon' }).
Magazine (Nov 1989) Page(s) 8. Includes photo(s). New Roses. Today PPAF. A vibrant orange yellow grandiflora, 'Today' displays a unique color in masses of blooms.
