Book (1976) p31 The Final Analysis 1973-74 Season. 'Silent Night'. Rating 7.1. (S. McGredy). 'Daily Sketch' x 'Hassan'. Creamy apricot suffused pink. 101 cm. The beautiful colour blend sets this in a place of its own. It is lovely at all stages. The bush is vigorous and healthy in the north, not quite so good in the south. The only real complaint is that it is rather a shy flowerer.
p81. Molly Kirby. My Favourite Exhibition Roses. 'Pania' and 'Silent Night'. I have staged blooms from both of these in exhibition classes, but feel they are not quite up to top exhibition form. Both look very attractive in classes for blooms at three stages.

Lower Hutt: Perfumed pastel multicolour. Healthy. Attractive buds, nice indoors or outdoor rose. Palmerston Nth: One of our favourites. Hates wind as foliage is brittle. Oamaru: Good grower, no diseases so far. Nice shape blooms and plenty too. Delightful colour.

Blooms hold reasonably well. Dunedin: Great success with this one, beautiful pastel. Apricot cream well formed flowers. Satisfactory growth and habit. Cambridge: Lovely amber colour - nice shape but sparse with flowers.

Good average growth - worthwhile.
