Origin and date unknown. Dusky crimson, mid-size and fragrant, a small center of yellow stamens. Discovered growing at Roseraie de l'Haÿ.

Victor Parmentier Parmentier (Belgium), before 1847 (?). Synonym: Rose Victor (?). Habit: upright shrub; can attain a height of 2 m; quite strong branches; prickles and bristles. Foliage: abundant; light green; elliptical, medium to large foliage. Bloom: not very abundant bloom; solitary or by 2 to 3 blooms; small, quartered; small eye in the centre. Colour: carmine-pink centre, passing to pale lilac-pink at the edges; fades to violetish. Fragrance: strong....No old source mentions this variety which is in the collection of Sangerhausen: not the catalogue of the roses of Parmentier which were sold after his death (1847), nor the book of Otto, Der Rosenzüchter, 1858, which lists numerous obtentions. In any case, in this sale catalogue a "Rose Victor" exists which F. Mertens, the past director of Rosa belgica believes to be a synonym of "Victor Parmentier".
