p81 Kath Henry, Westland rose Society. Ten Favourite Roses. 'Bright Eyes'. (Martin 1982). Flor. A good name for this single flowered Floribunda as it is so bright. A bed of this rose would make a wonderful display in anyone's garden. Lovely!

p113 Don Sheppard. Review of Newer Roses for the 1985-86 Season. 'Bright Eyes'. Martin 1982. Seedling x 'Circus'. vermilion-red; 4 reports, 4 bushes; 3 years, 1m; 8.0 rating. In Taranaki this rose really makes as grand splash of colour in the garden. It is lovely as as fully open bloom, has fast repeat, grows vigorously and is healthy. West Otago says the colour does not fade. In Christchurch the largish semi-single blooms often come in good clusters, or small stems. It can be used on the show bench, and they think it is a very good, all purpose rose.

Don Sheppard. Review of Newer Roses for 1984-85 Season. Floribundas.
'Bright Eyes'. Martin 1982. 3 reports, 2 years, 1 metre, 7 rating. West Coast says this rose for them is about average, the single blooms of large petals open fast. West Otago says it is a good brilliant orange semi-single with lots of bloom. Christchurch reports well shaped clusters, with well balanced foliage and bush is very vigorous and healthy. Which all sounds as if 'Bright Eyes' should have a good future in most parts of the country.
