Bred by Hugh Dickson (c.1877 -1922) (United Kingdom, 1905).
Introduced in Australia by Taylor & Sangster in 1905 as 'Hugh Dickson'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, scarlet shading.  Strong fragrance.  35 to 50 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Very large, very full (41+ petals), classic hybrid tea, high-centered, reflexed bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 6' to 10' (185 to 305cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.  a good subject for pegging.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Prune after flowering is finished.
