L. V. Lawrence. Australian-raised Roses. It is appropriate that this list begins with a beautiful red rose named in honor of our much loved and respected State Governor of Victoria for many years, Sir Dallas Brooks. This cultivar is a clear medium red with large broad petals which do not fade or blue. The growth is vigorous and hardy. This rose, raised by Mr. R. W. Smith, a member of the executive of the National Rose Society of Victoria, is a cross between ‘Ena Harkness’ and ‘Charles Mallerin’. This cultivar is sweetly scented and is seen frequently on the show bench at our spring shows both as a specimen and in the decorative classes.
