I got a bareroot Drop Dead Red floribunda rose from Edmund's this Spring. I am very glad I did. THe bush is very vigorous and healthy and the foliage is dark green and very dense and the bugs seem to leave it alone for the most part. The many many blooms are a very dark velvety red and very large for a floribunda. There is very little fragrance that I can detect, but it is still a very beautiful rose. John

I bought this rose from one of my local nurseries in April 2010 and couldn't be more pleased. I'm actually thinking of moving the other roses I have around it and making a border on the side of my yard with these. It has beautiful, full glossy foliage to the ground, med sized blooms (except in the fall...they were around 5 inches), a nice full egg shaped bush, and the blooms hold their color really well until the bloom is finished. It also has a lot of buds. my two foot plant had 45 buds on the last flush in the middle of summer. The desciption says"none to mild tea fragrance" but mine has a light spicy fragrance. Not sure how it will hold up in the rest of the country but for Texas, this is a great rose!!
Update- December 10, 2010 This bush has done fabulous! It's only it's first year in my garden (I bought it potted), and it is currently about 5 ft tall and three feet wide and right in the middle of a flush. It has had some of the cleanest foliage in my garden (I only spray when I see something is about to get out of hand (usually spider mites)...probably 5 times from April to December), and has had practically NO leaf drop. I can honestly say that I have picked off mabye 2-3 leaflets from the very bottom of the bush. I do, however, water faithfully - especially in the summer. At least every other day when the temps are 95+. And the glossy, dark green, quilted foliage almost makes this rose bush look fake when viewed from a distance, especially since the cooler weather set in and the blooms are holding up better. Thought it doesn't have super long cutting stems, most of the blooms have stems long enough to cut for a shorter vase, and they do decent as a cut flower (I always keep my bouquets in the refigerator when I'm not around). Since the cooler weather got here blooms are around 4-5 inches across and look much more like a hybrid tea. I get so many compliments on this bush when people come to my house. I think it's because almost everyone LOVES a red rose, and this one just keeps pumping out clear red, hybrid tea type blooms in good quantities. HIGHLY recommended!!! Oh, and best show in the fall in my area.
