Origin:
Bred by Wilhelm Kordes III (1953 - 2016) (Germany, 2002).
Introduced in France by Globe Planter as 'Chaperon Rouge'.
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 2007 as 'Rotkäppchen'.
Introduced in Canada by Palatine Roses in circa 2010 as 'Red Riding Hood - Fairy Tale'.
Introduced in Australia by Treloar Roses in 2014 as 'Red Riding Hood - Fairy Tale'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Mild fragrance.  70 to 80 petals.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, quartered, rosette bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy, well-branched.  Medium, glossy, medium green, leathery foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 28" (up to 70cm).  Width: up to 20" (up to 50cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5a through 9b.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden.  Vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.

The new variety of rose plant of the present invention originated from a controlled crossing in a breeding program of two distinct parents during the summer of 2002. The crossing was between an `un-named seedling` and `Insel Mainau`.
