Bloom:
Cherry-red, white center, yellow stamens. None to mild fragrance. Average diameter 4.5". Very large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters, flat bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season. Long, pointed buds.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing. Glossy, dark green, holly-like foliage.
Height: 8'2" to 12' (250 to 365cm). Width: up to 6' (up to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b. Can be used for garden, landscape, pillar or shrub. Can be grown as a shrub. can be trained as a climber. produces decorative hips. rain tolerant. shade tolerant. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy. Prune dead wood.
