According to Dominique Massad, the mother plant of Madame Paule Massad and Griselis, which was sold to him as “Madame Bérard”, is actually Rêve d’or after later identification.

I posted the parentage of Mme Paule Massad months ago ( I received an email from Dominique Massad with the roses parentage) and it's never been published. Why is that?

Here's a copy of the email I received from M. Massad. I am happy that you like 'Mme Paule Massad' . It's a very good rose for hot climate. The parentage is : Mme Bérard x Graham Thomas and the date of this cross is 4 july 1991.

I received my mature plant in the past six months from a friend who had two, desperately needed space for another rose, and knew how much I loved the ones in her garden. The plant currently has 19 clusters of buds with many opening blooms, and the foliage is immaculate, even though the roses around it are suffering from rust, blackspot and powdery mildew after this rainy and weird winter and spring weather in So. Cal. The fragrance is delightful.

'Mme Paule MASSAD' is the real name given by Dominique MASSAD. Paule MASSAD born JEUNET is a grand-daughter of Pierre GUILLOT and breeder's mother.
