Introduced in United Kingdom by Thomas Evans in 1808 as 'Rosa indica rubra Andr.'.

China / Bengale.  

Crimson or dark red, purple shading, white undertones.  Moderate, sweet fragrance.  Medium to large, semi-double to double, cluster-flowered, globular bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Rounded buds.  

Glossy, reddish-purple foliage.  

Height: 2' (60cm).  

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
