Origin:
Bred by Louis-Xavier Granger (France, 1856).
Introduced in Australia by Thomas Lang in 1873 as 'Prince Impérial'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Red or deep pink, violet shading, light yellow undertones.  Proliferates.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, very double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Light prickles.  Light green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
