'ADAmariat' rose Reviews & Comments

We have two roses listed: ADAmariat. Michel Adam, France <2011..Maurice Reybaud has said this is being sold in France as ‘Anastasia’. ADAloriat.. Michel Adam, France <2015 . MR12 calls this Anastasia and lists some of ADAmariat’s awards to ADAloriat. Are they two different roses, or two different codes for the same rose?

Just wondered if the other listing for Anastasia ‘NIRP’ needs updating / deleting? I bought this rose directly from NIRP Italy in 2022 the label states Anastasia Adamariat so is a Michel Adam création. I’ve taken a photo of the label which I’ll post up here.

The relationship between Michel Adam and NIRP is complicated. They often introduce roses with the same name. In the case of 'Anastasia' the Australian patent states that it was bred 1995 in Italy and introduced as NIRPwhi. Adam's 'Anastasia' (Adamariat) took part in the rose trials of Lyon in 2011, i.e. many years later. Both roses look similar, but there is at least a decade in between. It is probable that the name 'Anastasia' was "recycled". As Adam works with NIRP, it is not unusual that NIRP would be selling the newer version. We will therefore keep both versions separate.
