Has anyone else had Miranda Lambert bloom for about 2 days then all the petals fall off? It's a gorgeous rose but I swear it doesn't last more than 2 days for more.

Saw a bunch of them in pots at Walmart with perfect shiny leaves and lots of blooms. They were in complete shade but the blooms were of loose-form so I know that they won't last long in the vase. Scent was good but the loose-formed petals held me back from buying. The only purple rose that last long in the vase & on the bush is Stephen Big Purple (tighter petals), but that also fries in the heat. Purple roses are best in partial shade & they last longer.

Is it me or does it have a purple tinge in the photos? I have not seen it in person yet, so maybe someone could comment about its color.

I find it to be magenta in color.

I saw it in person. In the Pac. NW, it does have a purple overcast to the magenta pink. Blooms were gigantic, like Peace.

I have been reading reviews regarding the fragrance of miranda lambert rose.
My experience so far, including early spring blooms as well as early summer blooms is that the fragrance is barely detectable. Is anyone aware of certain conditions that bring out the fragrance? Among my other HT, I find that each different variety seems to have certain 'special' conditions where fragrance is maximized. For example, some peak fragrance in the early morning, seemingly just due to time of day. Others peak fragrance in the morning but not until sun directly penetrates the petals. Others seems to peak fragrance in late afternoon sun. Miranda lambert I cant seem to find any such peak and I am really wondering why people describe as fragrant. As far as looks go, her color is absolutely gorgeous, surprisingly even in houston heat (93degrees)

I find her fragrance to be very elusive. There have been a few times where it had the most incredible sweet rosy anise scent, and 90% of the time I smell absolutely nothing even when it seems conditions would be right. I've only grown her for a season though and haven't gotten many blooms yet so I still have a lot more observing to do.
