18 favorite votes. Harry Wheatcroft descibed his book "as notes on a love affair, an account of one man's romance with the first lady of flowers." This romance of his spanned more than half a century; in the beginning, in partnership with his brothe, Alfred, in Wheatcroft Brothers; later, with his sons, David and Christopher, in Harry Wheatcroft and Sons. For Wheatcroft, the four biggest roses -- he called them Landmark Roses -- are 'Peace', 'Super Star', 'Queen Elizabeth', and 'Fragrant Cloud'.
