Elina is one of my favorites in my garden. Her blooms are outstanding and always perfect. Very disease resistant. She blooms nonstop until it hits about 107 and then she hits a wall. This past summer, she was blooming (in her second year) constantly through spring. She had big (and I mean BIG) plump upright buds and right as they were about to open, it hit 107 and the heads literally fell over and hung from the neck and she was done for the summer. But I love her so much that I will keep her anyway. Summer is our "dormant" time here in Arizona, as we like to say....and she blooms all through Fall, Winter and Spring so....

I love my Elina bush that is now about 7 years old and continues to grow vigorously and in great health. The blooms are so large and lovely and the form has improved since it was three years old and they continue to be fragrant as well. They make great cut flowers too. Just two weeks ago I have a new basal cane that had two new Elina roses that bloomed a deep golden yellow with the same size, form, and perfume of normal lighter creamy yellow Elina bloom just in this very beautiful deep golden yellow color. I am going to watch this basal cane close and hope it blooms again with the same color and is stable and maybe it will be a reliable color sport of Elina that others will enjoy. Keeping my fingers crossed. John

how did it turn out? Do you think it was a seasonal thing or has it bloomed true? You should try making a cutting and talk to some breeders if it's stayed darker!!

Here in the lower half of zone 8, in humid and hot Southern Mississippi this rose performs as well or better than any of the 100+ roses in my garden. It should be considered to be among the best hybrid Teas available today. It is extremely vigorous, well clothed with healthy foliage, and I have never had to spray it during the growing season in the three years it has been in my garden. The long stems make it excellent for cutting. It one of a very few hybrid teas that make good landscape plants because of its healthy foliage. After three years it is 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. The only reason I can think of for anyone not liking this rose is because they don't like the rather stiff and formal hybrid tea bloom compare to the less formal bloom of old garden roses. In summary, and in my personal opinion, Elina could fairly be considered to be the best hybrid tea introduced to date.

I tried to up load some photos. And they seemed to upload and then disappear into the ether. I'm having trouble understanding the the directions I guess. And I can't figure out what that list thing does. or how it interacts with the photos. Oh well. I can't figure out how to see the photos even if they did upload. so I guess it doesn't matter. When I click on "photos" I see a message that says "We didn't find any photos meeting your list option selections." I tried all the list option selections one by one but got the same message. Apparently I'm too dumb to figure this site out. I think I'll give up.

Maybe You should try to post the photo's one by one... or per two, for there is a maximum that one might upload in one processing sequence.

actually I did post them one at a time. And someone else said they could see them on my member page. I still can't figure out How I can see them. But I'll keep trying. If I can figure out how this software works, i'll post many more photos.

OK I just figured it out! I have to go to the List thingy and choose Member photo or garden photos or something like that. I'm pre email so I'm still confused when photo of member, or member photo, doesn't mean "photo of member", it means photos submitted by member, or member's photos. It's my own fault I have not kept up with the new English. It is an evolving language, and I need to get with it! I can upload more photos now. Thanks everyone.
Now I am stuck on "Member Phoro" and when you mouse over this the box below it says up load your photo of this member. Which is NOT what I want to do. Very frustrating. I notice the the back function takes you back, but then you can't go back to where you were once you use back. I'll get the hang of it eventually. Willing to put up with the software because there are no ads, which is nice!
I'll keep fiddling.
