Book (1978) Page(s) 89. Geheimrat Duisberg was one of the better yellow roses upon its introduction in 1933. It had shiny foliage, easy growth and handsome flowers. They were yellow, apart from the early blooms, which in common with many yellow varieties of the period, came white. The parents were 'Rapture' x 'Julien Potin'. 'Rapture' was one of the deepest pink sports on the 'Ophelia' line, from 'Mme. Butterfly' in fact. It provided a means for the American introducers to escape the awkward German name, and substitute for 'Geheimrat Duisberg' the more familiar 'Golden Rapture'.
Book (1965) Page(s) 70. Includes photo(s). Geheimrat Duisberg 'Golden Rapture. Hybrid tea. (W. Kordes, 1933). The unshaded bright yellow blooms are medium-sized, full and well formed. The colour is, however, somewhat variable, and is often rather pale. The blooms are long-lasting and excellent for cutting. This rose does well under glass and there is some fragrance.
