One of my all time favorites- Eglantyne, will be shovel pruned due to rose rosette disease. Abraham Darby, looks like it may be a possible victim. Time will tell with High Society, Social Climber, Elektron. Something appears to have killed Hansa somewhere between July and September - that quick. She was 8 feet tall, and healthy as could be. WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY GARDEN?????? Morden Blushes are ok. They never were very strong for me. Afraid to start again..
Eglantyne: Received this awesome rose from David Austin Roses in Texas in March. I cannot believe the size and health of this bare-root rose! Everything from Mr. Austin has been 100% better than I have ever seen from other top-quality nurseries. From the free catalogue, website, website support (you can have a staff member help plan your garden for free!) to the packaging of my roses to absolutely the roses themselves--all has been overwhelmingly incredible! He has earned a customer for life--if one of his roses is still possible to buy direct from him, I will always choose that route! We amended our clay soil with composted manure (bagged, as I do not have a resource of my own) and added bone meal and some humus, mixed well. Within a week leaves were apparent as they began to break from the buds. Now, my gorgeous plant is covered in beautiful red new leaves.
