Introduced in France by Victor Verdier et fils in 1843 as 'Charles Souchet'.
Introduced in Australia by John J. Rule, Victoria Nursery in 1857 as 'Charles Souchet'.

Bloom:

Violet-red. Sweet fragrance. Average diameter 2.5". Medium, full (26-40 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Small buds.

Compact. Large foliage. 5 leaflets.
