ARS:
Medium red Hybrid Tea. Registration name: Ena Harkness
Bloom:
Crimson - scarlet. Mild to strong, damask fragrance. 30 petals. Large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Upright. Leathery foliage.
Height: 2' to 32" (60 to 80cm). Width: 17" to 2' (45 to 60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Notes:
Same parentage as 'William Harvey' and 'Red Ensign' One of Harry Wheatcroft's selections for best hybrid teas... he also says that 'Lancastrian' in color and habit is similar to 'Ena Harkness', but unlike 'Ena Harkness', 'Lancastrian’ holds its head up a little better.. Harkness Roses suggests a dose of potash fertiliser 2 weeks before flowering to help strengthen the neck...
