Gospel’ HT bred by Tantau; Tasman Bay Roses. Trial No 4976.  This rose had some good overseas publicity before it arrived into trial, and when I looked at those first flowers that first spring I wanted a plant desperately, big highly fragrant old fashion red rose, yum, but alas worst was to follow, it was the first rose to get rust and quickly defoliated, and that was the end for that rose, what a disappointment.
