Fiesta wasn't developed by Niels Ebbsen Hansen...it was developed by the other Hansen also working at this time...Niels J. Hansen who was working primarily with Hybrid Tea roses. (I've been researching N.E. Hansen for some time now)

Is there a known connection between Niels E. or Niels J. Hansen and Charles B. Hansen? C.B. Hansen, Manager of the Ontario Bank of America when the Fiesta was Bred, was a good friend of Jack Armstrong. C.B. Hansen had a Fiesta in the yard of his Ontario, California, home.

I'm pretty sure there is no connection between Niels Ebbsen Hansen and Charles B. Hansen. Niels Ebbsen attended school in Iowa (after immigrating from Norway as a young child) and then was an assistant professor there before becoming the hort. prof. at South Dakota State College (now university) in 1895. He worked there until he retired in 1937. (N.E. died in 1950) This Hansen went to China/Siberia/Northern Europe on plant searches 8 times.

I have seen one mention of a C.B. Hansen as a breeder in an old Modern Roses book but I can't remember which one (it would have been one from the 40s) and I'm not sure how accurate it was--if he is still listed as a breeder in the newer Modern Roses books. I THINK that Niels J. Hansen was in California, I know his Fiesta was released through Armstrongs.
