'Mrs. Harold Brookes' rose Description

Medium red Hybrid Tea. Registration name: Mrs. Harold Brookes
Bloom:
Cherry-red. Deep cerise, almost red. Strong fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Tall, bushy. Large, light green foliage.
Height: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for hedge.

Notes:
Proceeds from the sale of 'Mrs. Harold Brookes' were donated to the Woodend Horticultural Society. The bushy foliage was said to be most attractive and the plant flowered well into winter. Flowers said to be like 'McGredy's Scarlet'. Type 'Laurent Carle' but better color. Susan Irvine found this rose at Mrs. Brookes' old home and it was later identified by the son, John Brookes and his sister.
