Obtenteur: Veuve Schwartz 1890… rouge carmin profond, au contour déchiqueté et ourlé d’un filet blanc… très sensible aux maladies fongiques. Roger Lambelin  Hybrid Perpetual.  Introduced by Schwartz in 1890, 'Roger Lambelin' is a burgundy rose with very definite white stripes.  The edges of the petals are also notched as if cut with pinking shears.  Foliage is dark green and somewhat susceptible to black spot, but it can be forgiven for the strange beauty of its flowers.   The bush is upright and moderately vigorous if given the best of growing conditions.  (Sport of 'Camille de Rohan'). Zones 6-9.

A sport from 'Prince Camille de Rohan'
... with all the failings of [its parent]... weak growth... deep crimson petals are prettily edged with white... it can be beautiful if well grown, but for most gardens it might be better to grow 'Baron Girod de l'Ain' which is much stronger. Very fragrant.
