Just starting. A little earlier than Dorothy Perkins, about the same time as Veilchenblau next to it and probably extending through it. Redder than usual this year. Re timing: Albertine in the same little township was fully out.
At the end of a cold wet spring, which has delayed the rose season. Mt Torrens, South Australia, zone 9b.

In hand, with 'Dorothy Perkins’. The neat imbricated, rosette form of "Hawthorndene..." is becoming more evident as my plant ages. Note the lighter and different shaped leaf.

I'm told this would fit with the rose grown as Paul Ploton in California, as well as Cristina's one (but not with the Sangerhausen version).
