Rosa Alba. Sophie de Marsilly, large, full, magnificent form, pure white with pale flesh-coloured heart; very prickly; vigorous. This rose could maybe have been regarded as the most beautiful of this group, if her blooms would not have been easily destroyed by wind and rain; she is therefore recommended more for containers and is also very suitable for forcing.

Albas...Sophie de Marsilly is a fair-weather rose, exquisitely beautiful when first opening if lucky enough to escape wind and rain; the flowers are blush, with rosy centres, large and full.
