'Will Alderman' rose Description

ARS:
Medium pink Hybrid Rugosa. Registration name: Will Alderman
Bloom:
Pink, lilac shading, golden-yellow stamens. Strong fragrance. 35 to 40 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium, full (26-40 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Bushy, upright. Medium green foliage.
Height: up to 4' (up to 120cm). Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 2b and warmer. Very hardy. produces decorative hips. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
There is a very good chance that Skinner used the R. woodsii native to his area of Manitoba rather than, as he thought, R. acicularis. Olsen suggests, on the basis of ploidy and location, that Skinner's hybrids attributed to R. acicularis were probably derived from R. woodsii rather than R. acicularis. R. woodsii is much more common than R. acicularis in the Dropmore, MB area where Skinner was breeding roses (Rose Hybridizers Association Newsletter, Spring 2010, p. 6).
