Bred by Jean Desprez (France, before 1840).
Introduced in France by Jardins de Farcy-les-Lys in 1840 as 'Victoire Daumy'.
Class:
China / Bengale, Noisette.  
Bloom:
Dark purple, violet-red shading.  Small to medium, double (17-25 petals), flat, semi-globular bloom form.

Notes:
Dedicated to Marie Victoire Daumy (1781 Paris - March 22, 1863 Voisenon), daughter of the trader Jacques Daumy, married on April 18, 1801 to Joseph Charles Théodore Guénoux (1768 Paris - September 12, 1834 Voisenon), notary in Paris. Her inheritance was distributed on September 2, 1863 at the notary office of Edme-Jules Desprez (notary during June 30, 1853 - March 12, 1891) in Mélun (16 km from Yèbles where the Breeder lived). His precursor as a notary was Jean Baptiste Michel Desprez (April 1817 - June 29, 1853).
