Rose Ma Favorite
In his dendrological description of Weissenstein Park in 1785, Mönch mentions "Rosa carissima, from Rosa belgica (see Plate 1), an early flowering, large rose grown here". [The authors mix up 'Ma favorite' and 'Ma mignonne']
In Heynhold's "Nomenclator botanicus hortensis" 1840 there is a R. damascena ma favorite.
It must be a damask rose that has been lost.

Nach dem Herr Prof. Mönch S. 122 sind aus dem Samen der Rosa belgicae zu Weissenstein bey Cassel folgende Abarten gezogen worden:
γ) Rosa amabilis, ma favorite. Eine großblumige Abart. Zweckmäßiger. könnte man diese die großblumige niederländische Rose nennen: Rosa belgica grandiflora. Ist die Farbe dieser Rose blaßroth, wie es, da sie von der Niederländischen aus Samen stammt, scheint, so ist sie unterschieden von einer andern Rose, welche Herr Borkhaufen Rosa amabilis nennt, und welche carminroth ist.

...He lists these as the most beautiful roses originated in Weissenstein from the seeds of the Belgica.
