Rose Gracieuse. The flower of the rose in this Picture is similar to that of R. damascena 'Celsiana' or 'Rose de Cels', which came into being before 1750, There was a fuller clone, 'Double Cels'.
Nickels lists a R. gallica 'Gracieuse de Holland', the description of which also fits this picture. Jäger 1936 lists thirteen different 'Gracieuse'. In his list, the Dutch 'Gracieuse' is a damask rose. Another ''Gracieuse' is an alba rose.
No matter whether it was a damask rose, a gallica or an alba, the rose seems to have been lost.
