Demungeachtet wurde die wildwachsende Art neuerdings wieder als "Rosa Regeliana, Linden et André und die Varietät R. rugosa flore pleno unter den Namen "Kaiserin des Nordens"eingeführt. Die Kultur aller hierher gehörenden Varietäten flore albo simplici, flore roseo simplici, flore rubro pleno (Kaiserin des Nordens), Souvenir de Yeddo, Mikada, Taïcoun, Comte de Epremesnil u. A.)ist eine überaus leichte. Sie sind, mit Ausnahme 'Souvenir de Yeddo', welche Varität vom Froste leidet, vollkommen winterhart, gedeihen, ohne beschnitten zu werden, in jedem Boden und in jeder Lage....die Varietäten 'Mikado' und 'Souvenir de Yeddo' welch beide das charakteristische Blattwerk des Species nicht besitzen, werthlos.

A climber has in modern times come onto the scene as Rosa multiflora, Thunberg, which is fully hardy and which brings her blooms in large trusses. Her first semi-double variety, called "Rosa Polyantha" by the nurseries, has become the progenitress of numerous descendants. Curiously, most of the Polyantha varieties are of short habit and susceptible to frost, e.g. Paquerette, Mademoiselle Cécile Brunner, Mignonette and others.
