(1932) Page(s) 89-90. Another rose which develops into extraordinarily large plants and with its heavy arms has also proven itself as a bird sanctuary is 'Geschwind's Nordlandrose'. The plants grow over 3 m tall and equally wide and are covered in spring with a multitude of cupped soft pink blooms. This sort survived the winter of 1928/29 without any damage.
(1932) Page(s) 20. Geschwinds Gruss an Teplitz is also a Hybrid China. Geschwind has already 50 years ago tried to breed hardy park roses by crossing Satigera and repeat-blooming roses. Unfortunately there are except Gruss an Teplitz and Nordlandrose, commercialized in recent years by Gräfin Chotek, no cultivars of Geschwind in commerce any more. It can however be very valuable for the breeder to obtain the Geschwind varieties and by further work obtain new, brightly coloured, hardy shrub roses. Working with Gruss an Teplitz and hardy botanical roses should promise success.
