Wonderful photos ! It would be great if you could use the comments prompt to include where and when they were taken.

The photos where taken in 2010 from my own plant - I got it from the shop at Sangerhausen.

Then ideally if your comment included "my garden, JUNE 2010" it would give us additional insight on what to expect if we are growing this rose in a similar environment. It's often surprising how much variation there is in different environments; knowing that additional detail can be very enlightening.

Thanks again for all your wonderful photo contributions.

Hello,

two of the photos of Queen Alexandra (Pemberton!) are not right - after its description it should be a single pale yellow hybrid musk and not a near double pink or a single pink multiflora rambler.

Also the Sanders-picture of Queen Alexandra shows the Veitch-Queen Alexandra, not the one that was breed by Pemberton.

Just the photography of the RNRS Yearbook from 1916 shows The Queen Alexandra Rose from Pemberton.

The Pemberton-Queen is probably lost - even at Sangerhausen it seems that only a pink multiflora can be found there.

Hello,
Jedmar told me you could help me, by the way, he's sending you his best regards
I am growing a moss rose I bought under the name "Goldmoss" but it doesn't fit with its desciption; mine is about 2m high and I could train it like a small climber, furthermore, the flowers are semi double and the buds are tinted with red and yellow. Jedmar told me it could be "Yellow Moss" and that you might be growing it. Do you have any picture to compare with? Or at least, if you do grow it, does it look like mine?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards from Switzerland
Gerd

Hello Gerd,

I'm so sorry, I didn't recognize your Posting earlier - I beg your pardon.

It is right - I have Yellow Moss in my garden. I got it in summer 2007 from Sangerhausen. Until now it is about 50 cm high. Until now it makes no sign to behave as a real shrub - not to speak of a climber. But it is probably too early to judge. As far as I remember (I regret, I didn't take photos of the buds), the buds did not show signs of red.

But I think I have photos of the blooms of this year (they disappear very fast) - I have to look for them whitin the next days. I hope you have some more patience ..... (it won't last as long as my first answer, I promise!).

Best regards & again sorry for delayed answer
Martina

Hi Marianne,
Sorry, don't know if you were able to find your rose as I saw your message a little too late... Anyway, try at www.rosiers.ch, the Tschanz's nursery, he's really a good professional and I know he can ship over Europe, so it might not be a problem for you to get this rose!
Enjoy the summer! Kind regards
Gerd

Hello,

you listed Joanne de Feligonde and that it was found by Thomas Södler - he is not member here at HMF yet and so he asked me, to give you his message: he is not from Bavaria, but from Bad Nauheim - Steinfurth in Hessen (Postcode = 61231).

Would you please change this entry about him?

Thank you so much!

Best regards
Martina
