I would just like to say that your article about Iceberg was excellent. I have grown Iceberg in the past and found it to be very tolerant of shade-- it only received 3 to 4 hours of sun and was still very healthy. One again I thoroughly enjoyed your article.	REPLY

I have an Abraham Darby that was given to us as a gift for our house warming. Unfortunately we don't have a permanent garden yet so we have it planted in a large ceramic containter. How should I prune it so that it takes more of a shrub form than a climbing form? Is this possible? Naomi	REPLY

Hmm, I really don't know much about it, but I am not sure this rose does well in a container. When I tried to keep my AD as a 3-4 ft shrub it just didn't boom much at all. My plant really wants minimal pruining and blooms with much more frequency and bigger blooms when I let it be. Anyone have luck with a planter?	REPLY

Actually, this is a big help. I have been trying to convince my husband that this rose is not appropriate for a container..... so it is nice to have some confirmation. Naomi	REPLY

I have had a abraham darby in a 15 gallon container for 3 years and it does fine,I do believe it would rather be in the ground.There are some roses that dont mind containers at all like minatures and some shrub roses so long as the container is big enough.I think some roses are great for containers,they rebloom all summer and you can move them closer to a walk way.I can smell it now.Ahhh	REPLY

I've had AB for about 4 plus years in a 20 gallon container. My AB only gets about 4 hours of sun and it is seldom without buds or blooms. The 20 gallon container is planted in the ground with additional drain holes cut into the bottom of the pot. I do feel that, do to the shade, it is not as disease resistant as it should be. I've never tried to grow it as a climber and it looks great with just a little support. I don't know what size your pot is, I can only say this, If its not large enough, you will be trimming roots within two years. I've cut the blooms and hardened them off and they always kept, in the vase, for at least a week. Enjoy the rose, its great, I love the fragrance. Bill Raimond

I find 'Mlle. Marie Drivon' to be a fine rose; the blooms are packed with petals that are light pink with a touch of peach. The fragrance is sweet and pleasant. The blooms come in clusters and have repeated all summer; the heaviest bloom period being in the spring. The rose has long canes and short flowering laterals. I have one of my plants pegged and the other is on my fence-- it makes a good but rather short climber. Like all my Bourbons, Marie Drivon is susceptible to black-spot so it needs spraying from time to time.

I'm looking for a source for "Root Zone" , "Cloud Cover" or "Moisturin" antitranspirants. In particular I'm very interested in "Moisturin" since its a foliar spray, and not a drench. If anyone has used any of these products please advise-- I'm looking for a replacement for “Frost Proof”. If anyone has used "Moisturin" I would like to know how they liked or disliked the product. I'm trying to get ready for the upcoming bad weather.
