This is my first year with hybrid teas- I'd only hadhardy roses before, and I'm obsessed with how to winterize them to keep them alive over the winter. Our yard is near a farm field, and we have absolutely no protection from the wind, which compounds the problem of already being in a colder zone than most hybrid teas can handle. I mounded the roses today, even though it hasn't been nearly cold enough to worry about them yet. I plan to add straw and a burlap windbreak as soon as the temps drop down into the low twenty's on a regular basis.
