If this rose should be identical with 'American Beauty, Clb.' how can it be a repeat bloomer? All descriptions of AB Clb. say that it is only once blooming.

I have ofen read comments about 'American Beauty's wonderfull strong fragrance, but 'Wrams Gunnarstorp' has only got moderate fragance. I only grow WG, and it is not strongly scented. I have never seen 'American Beauty' irl, so I cannot compare, but was just wondering.

I found it as a roadside rose. It's spring-only, which is a limitation in a Mediterranean climate, but good when it's flowering. In good garden conditions it's a vigorous prickly shrub-climber. Sometimes proliferates.

proflierates? oh my prolifera de redoute from old north cemetary in hartford ct has yet to do that, nor have her sisters in CT,,,,kind of a Ct rose society standard! can't wait to see just hope we don't get gypsy moths and rosette disease!

Stefan, this is possibly the silvery pink HT 'Dean Hole' which was in the Sangerhausen collection of 1936.

Sounds like a good idea, Jedmar - I will check this on my next visit to Sangerhausen. However I cannot see any traces of salmon or yellow on my pictures of the bloom - so we should not let our hopes fly too high...

Have you had a chance to visit this rose again Stefan?
I agree with your comments - unless this colour is not typical but some chance aberration, it does not resemble the original descriptions or the portrait.
Perhaps this rose could have the study name "Sangerhausen Reynolds Hole".
