Rose Listing Omission
'England's Rose' [Auslounge]
The last introduction by David Austin for the new season 2010-2011.
First of all, this new rose bears the same name as another Austin's rose which is :
'England's Rose' [Ausrace] - Year of introduction : 2000
and must not be confused.
The 'England's Rose' of 2010 is a deep red pink flower, fully double, strongly scented, with a excellent repeating flowering.

Shame on the Austin marketers for doing this. "The rose must not be confused." What about not confusing people?

Indeed, you are absolutely right. They have not even had the idea to add the year in the name of the rose, as had been done for the roses 'Wisley' and 'Wisley 2008'.
Three possible explanations :
1- Austin marketers have memory lapses and completely forgot the ancient 'England's Rose'...
2- They have a special sens of humor and want effectively create confusion... LOL...
3- Last possibility : they are running out of ideas ! And this will be the ultimate shame for marketers...

"England's Rose" almost certainly refers to a song sung by Elton John in memory of the late Princess of Wales. I don't think they'd forgotten the earlier rose, they just thought there was more money to be made out of the name. But I do like your second suggestion.
