Still some hiccups in the system. I tried to post 2 photos of George Elger, but only one came up. I tried several times to post the second photo separately, but I was told I needed to select a file to post, and to use the Browse button (which doesn't exist on that page on my screen). Then, putting this comment on, I couldn't see the Website Errors & Problems category.
I had the same issue as Margaret. It was really hit or miss whether photographs loaded. While loading photographs, images to the following roses failed: Signature, St Patrick, Falling In Love, New Hampshire, Kardinal, Bee Scene, Lions Rose, Neon Sunset, Werribee Park, Love's Gift, Blush Noisette, Violette and Rosa Luciae. Gave up after three in a row were unsuccessful.
Also, I've noticed that if a comment is posted under a particular photo, that comment appears in the general comments section for that rose and not under that particular photo's comments, like it used to. For example I just posted a comment about a 2013 photo for 'Charivari' but if you click on the rose name it doesn't lead you to that photo.
I can sign in but as soon as I leave the sign in page the orange sign in/new member button reappears and it appears I am signed out. Even though my user name still appears by the "welcome:" I do not have access to anything that would require being signed in - cannot add/delete plants from gardens, limited access to content, etc.
Oops, we have a problem; this unrecoverable system (14) error has been reported to the support department.`
This is the message that I get every time I try to update my "Plants Grown" list. I have probably about 50 to add, as I have expanded the garden and have been experiencing this repeatedly since the site upgrade. I don't know where to go to get help for this problem because I can't find anywhere to email or otherwise contact HMF Support.
Yes we need to reinstall the support contact link but the best alternative is to just email support "at" helpmefind dot com.
Everyone should please be aware our limited resources are a bit stretched at this time mitigating the service disruption attacks most every night as of late. Implementing countermeasures on a live system complicates the issue, we are working through the problems.
Yes, still happening. I even opened HMF up using Microsoft Edge [which I don't like, I infinitely prefer Google Chrome as my browser], hoping that it might make a difference. At the moment, the search function appears to be working but I still can't update my plant list. I'm not even game to try updating photos. I have sent an email to the support team this morning. I hope it has gone through. Last night it kept bouncing back at me; I'm better at growing roses than I am mucking around with tech, and it doesn't take too many glitches to make me doubt that I have any ability with the wretched stuff at all.
That's interesting. In my Mediterranean-type climate, it balls, often.

It is very popular among Leonie's customers, near Brisbane (tropics). Much better-behaved than in Blakiston garden (South Australia, zone 9b), where it grows well (now about 1.2m wide and tall) but needs frequent removal of balled flowers. When its' good it's very very good...

Ouch, sorry, can't get back in to move the apostrophe.
I received this rose as an incorrectly labeled plant from Home Depot via the National Plant Network. One of the most distinctive features is the foliage. The leaves are super stiff, toothed, and spined along the edge of the leaf. Perhaps this characteristic should be mentioned? I did ask someone with this rose who confirmed the features of the leaves that I noticed.
That's a lucky mistake. Despite its odd growth habit, its one of the Brownell greats. This one, like 'Lafter', grow a lot like Austin shrubs than they do HTs. I dont find this a fault, rather its just easier to ignore the ARS classification lol.
I am extremely jealous of your good fortune - I have been trying to find another copy of this rose for a few years. My very first copy came to me the exact same way it came to you - supposed to be Curly Pink but was in actuality Orange Ruffels. I got that version through Interstate Nurseries which was part of the Directgardening.com family - always cheap plants - both in price and quality and also, one was never very sure if what they ordered is what they would get. Back then, I was so young and green that I really thought it was Curly Pink - until I got the real Curly Pink from Vintage Gardens. I also got an amazing own root version of Orange Ruffels from Vintage gardens which did just as well as the grafted version. Sadly I lost the original copy and the Vintage copy when I moved. I did get another version from Rose Petal Nursery but it was a very small copy and it struggled for a few years until succumbing to my infestation of Canadian Thistles in 2023. I have not been able to find it again and will always be on the hunt for this one until I get it again.
I hope you cherish and take care of this one (not that it needs it). And hopefully you can share cuttings of it for those of us desperately looking for it again.
Hi Andre! The rose should arrive on Thursday. I cannot send private massages or I would have just messaged you. Not sure why that function isn't working since the update.
