*** Growing near Houston, TX: sub tropical zone 9a. Mild winters, hot, extremely humid summers that last half the year. ***
Purchased from Rose Petals Nursery August 2012.
7/13/2013- Still potted, which turns out to be convenient because we've decided to move. Love the flowers.
5/24/2014 - Planted in new garden.
4/9/2015- Current size is an awkward 5x4, but it is still young. Blooms its head off.
4/2016- 6 x 5. Open growth, different from Maman and Niles Cochet (who have been bushier). They all three ball during spring, though Niles seems the worst offender for that.
8/16/2017- size is about 8 tall by 6 wide. very open growth still. starting to look like a small tree.
4/17/2020- I have to hack at this one every so often to keep it from gobbling small children and pets. Size is about 10w x 8h.
5/8/2023- Feb 2021 and Dec 2022 brought very cold temperatures to Houston and my teas really suffered from it. WMC barely made it through the first freeze and didn't bloom again for more than a year. It has since rebounded from the second deep freeze and is blooming a little, but the size is significantly reduced. About 4 x 4.
