Diese schöne Pflanze ist nur eine Varietät von Cl. florida, von der sie sich hauptsächlich durch die Reinheit und Schönheit der Farbe unterscheidet, auch ist ihr Habitus etwas robuster. Sie ist eben so hart wie C. florida une eine der schönsten Schlingpflanzen, die in letzter Zeit eingeführt wurden. Im Topfe am Spalier gezogen und im Gewächshause vor dem Regen geschützt, gewährt sie einen sehr reizenden Anblick.
Sie wöchst gut im lehmigen Boden, blüht beinahe während des ganzen Sommers und lässt sich obgleich langsam, durch Ableger und Stecklinge vermehren.
(Unter der Benennung Clematis bicolor Sieboldt finden wir diese Pflanzen im Pflanzen-Katalog von Jakob Makoy in Lüttich aufgeführtwoselbst sie für den Preis von 25 Franken zu haben ist. Es ist eine nicht genug zu empfehlende Pflanze. O.) [Otto]

This beautiful plant is just a variety of Cl. Florida, from which it differs mainly in the purity and beauty of the color, and its habit is somewhat more robust. It is as hardy as C. florida and one of the most beautiful creepers introduced recently. Grown in a pot on a trellis and protected from the rain in the greenhouse, it makes a very charming sight. It grows well in loamy soil, blooms almost all summer long and, although slowly, can be propagated by layering and cuttings. (We find these plants listed under the name Clematis bicolor Sieboldt in Jakob Makoy's plant catalog in Liège, where they are available for the price of 25 francs. Diese durch Herrn von Siebold von Japan eingeführte gehört zu den schönsten Acquisitionen unserer Gärten. Sie verdient einen Platz in jedem Blumengarten, da sie sich durch ihre Blumen und den schönen Wuchs besonders auszeichnet. Die Kelchblätter sind gross und grünlich-weiss, die Kronenblätter violett. In einer Mischung von Lehm und Heideerde gedeiht sie kräftig und lässt sich durch Ableger vermehren.

This, introduced by Mr. von Siebold of Japan, is one of the most beautiful acquisitions in our gardens. It deserves a place in every flower garden as it is particularly characterized by its flowers and beautiful growth. The sepals are large and greenish-white, the petals are purple. It thrives in a mixture of clay and heather soil and can be propagated by layering.

Chromatella ist eine andere zu den Noisetten gehörige neue Rose, welche Hr. Coquereau aus Samen zog und dafür von dem Comité des Depart, der Maine und Loire eine Preismedaille erhielt. Sie gleicht in Gestalt und Größe der Maréchal, unterscheidet sich aber davon durch ihre schöne chromgelbe Farbe. Hr. C. hat den Stock der Sammlung des Hrn. Vibert zu Angers überlassen, der sie im nächsten Herbst in Handel bringen wird.
