ARS:
Dark red Hybrid Tea. Registration name: Dickson's Red
Bloom:
Carmine-red. Carmine overcast with oxblood red. Pedicel smooth.. Spice fragrance. 18 petals. Classic hybrid tea bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
Notes:
Spring 2002, Marina found this rose at Vintage Gardens. She had actually gone there to purchase 'Joseph's Coat' and wound up with 'Dickson's Red' as well. She says the blooms have a fabulous fragrance and are a lovely red (a bit on the pink-red side).
