from an article by Walter Easlea, Pernetiana Roses, in The Rose Annual for 1921, p. 131
"Arthur R. Goodwin (Pernet-Ducher). From an unnamed seedling and Soleil d'Or. This Rose is almost as popular as when first sent out. It is a fine sturdy grower and good solid wood that stands winter well. The general tone of colour is pinkish orange. Flowers rather flat, but lovely buds and very floriferous. A fine bedder. Growths covered with formidable prickles. we have here a sweetly fragrant variety, a rather uncommon feature of the tribe."
