Included as a supplement to The Western Mail, Western Australia, June 28, 1934.
Caption: Painted by L. Cutten. Roses which headed the list in the plebiscite recently conducted by The West Australian. (2) 'Lord Charlemont'. A vigorous growing hybrid tea rose suitable for both garden and exhibition purposes. Flowers of perfect shape are freely produced throughout the year. The colour is a rich crimson, which neither fades in bright sunshine nor blues in wet weather. The blooms last well either on the plant or when cut. It was raised in Ireland by Samuel McGredy and Son, and introduced to this state in 1923.

My camera can't get this rose's colour right. Good damask scent.
