From Wills cigarette cards, Roses – a series of 40 cards. Issued in 1936.
No 6.
CHERRY
(Hybrid Tea)
Introduced 192S
Sunflower-yellow, shaded rose and pink.
A bedding Rose with blooms of medium size and perfect shape. The growth is somewhat sprawling, but the blooms are produced in great profusion. The buds come in clusters, and it is necessary to remove all except the centre one. Fragrant. It requires moderately hard pruning the third week in March to three eyes. It is a variety that has rather sparse foliage, but the perfectly formed blooms make up the deficiency.
