Introduced in United Kingdom by R Harkness & Co. Ltd. in 1948 as 'William Harvey'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1950 as 'William Harvey'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Scarlet.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Very large, double (17-25 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Vigorous.  Blooms tend to ball in wet weather.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Same parentage as 'Ena Harkness' and 'Red Ensign'
The parentage is reversed in the references.
